Sports and masculinity?

A great nugget from Pat Forde's interview on Tuesday's Tony Kornheiser radio show: If you want to find out whether a second-semester freshman basketball player is planning to go to the NBA, just ask him what his favorite class is. That's what Forde did to Kevin Love at the Final Four. Love stammered and paused and eventually came up with "Sports and Masculinity." When Forde checked it out in the UCLA course catalogue, the class didn't exist. The sports info folks came up with another, similarly titled class in which Love might have been enrolled. But the more likely scenario is that he hadn't darkened the door of a lecture hall in a couple of months.

Also in the news:
From the Knicks to Newsday, the Dolans continue their quest to poison everything good in the New York metropolitan area. Best quote: "They're the only owners who could make you wish for Murdoch."

Comments:
This has nothing to do with this post, but it is one of the weirder sports websites I've seen.

http://www.thebossmus.com/

It's some guys' collection of Brad Ausmus and Tony Eusebio collectibles. Mostly broken bats. But it also includes Ausmus' contract with Topps for 1996. All he received for his image on a baseball card was a $75 gift certificate to the Topps catalog.
